Members of our company have performed on stages all over the country, from New York and Chicago to Hollywood. They’ve been cast in sitcoms and feature films. Some have been nominated for Academy Awards, but they all call BDT Stage home.
MICHAEL J. DURAN
Michael J. Duran came back to BDT after a 23-year stint in NYC. He got his start here as Joseph in the very ﬁrst production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in 1977. His credits include: Broadway: The Music Man, Crazy For You, Me and My Girl, Into The Light, Annie 2 (Pre-Broadway). London and National Tours: Damn Yankees with Jerry Lewis, Sunset Blvd. with Petula Clark, Bye Bye Birdie with Tommy Tune and Anne Reinking, Hello, Dolly! with Carol Channing and On Your Toes directed by the legendary George Abbott. Television: Law and Order, Law and Order: SVU, Irving Berlin’s 100th Birthday Celebration at Carnegie Hall (CBS) and An Evening with Alan Jay Lerner for PBS Great Performances. Michael has received the DDCC awards for Best Director for Damn Yankees, Best Choreographer for Bye Bye Birdie, Top of the Rocky honor for Best Director 2005 and the 2007 Best Director Henry Award and Ovation Award for Ragtime. Michael was a recipient of the 2015 Dairy Center Honors for his contribution to Boulder culture through the arts.
Wayne has won critical acclaim for his work as Amos in Chicago, Herr Shultz in Cabaret, Old Deuteronomy in Cats, Professor Marvel/The Wizard in The Wizard of Oz and as the King in The King and I. He is the winner of four Denver Drama Critics Circle Best Actor awards for Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Johnny in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Professor Higgins in My Fair Lady and Freddy in Chess, plus nominations for his portrayals of Emile De Becque in South Pacific and Colonel Doctor Otternschlog in Grand Hotel. Wayne graciously accepts the challenge of engineering BDT’s sound system.
Scenic Designer/Scenic Artist
Amy is excited to be continuing her 14th season at BDT Stage. A Nebraska native, Amy earned her MFA from Illinois State University. BDT Stage favorites include Ragtime and Peter Pan.
Neal has been music director along the Front Range for nearly 30 years. He lives in Lyons, Colorado with his daughter Prugh. He enjoys hiking and biking and spending time on the river.
Assistant Artistic Director/Stage Manager
Seamus has been at BDT for the past 12 years as Production Stage Manager and now Assistant Artistic Director. During this time he has also acted as master electrician, carpenter, rigger, understudy, bar manager, and many other jobs. In his spare time he has branched out to build sets for Midtown Arts Center for their productions of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and School Of Rock. Shay has acted as Technical Director, Master Carpenter, Sound Technician and Master Electrician for the Foothill Theatre Company, as well as the Lake Tahoe and Sierra Shakespeare Festivals.
Linda is now in her 17th season as resident costume designer for BDT Stage. She has designed and worked on well over 100 productions both regionally and nationally. Awards include three Henry and two Denver Post Ovations for continued excellence in costume design as well as Best of Boulder, Marlowe awards and multiple award nominations. Although she has lived in Colorado most of her adult life, Linda was born and raised in Minnesota and holds a BA from North Dakota State University.
Ben is a graduate of Shenandoah University with a BFA in Theater for Youth. Since moving to Colorado, Benjamin has been teaching and directing around the Denver Metro area as well as building sets for Inspire Creative and The Pace Center. He is delighted to have found a home at BDT Stage.
Brett is a freelance lighting designer and technician. He is the Resident Lighting Designer for BDT Stage, where he recently lit The Little Mermaid, Rock of Ages, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2017 Henry Award nominee), Peter & the Starcatcher, The Addams Family (2016 Marlowe Award) and Mary Poppins (2015 Henry Award). Brett has also designed shows for the Aurora Fox, Town Hall Arts Center, Lemon Spongecake Dance, and Aurora Dance Arts.
